I wanted to be out filming today but the weather was trying its best to stop me. Undeterred I popped a rain hood on my Canon 550D and stood in the garden getting soaked filming this short for you.
Camera: Canon EOS 550D with Sigma 50mm EX DG Macro on Manfrotto 055XPROB with RC128 head and Storm Jacket Rain Hood.
Edited using trial version of Final Cut Pro X

Este cortometraje es, hasta el presente, la única incursión de Martin Blaszko en el cine. Fue rodado hacia 1954 y en solitario (con excepción de algunas tomas realizadas con la ayuda de Eugenia, su mujer). En él, Blaszko hace uso de animaciones, juegos de perspectivas y otras ventajas del arte cinematográfico para hablar de las leyes geométricas que rigen la mayor parte de su obra y de los temas que aún lo obsesionan como la bipolaridad, lo monumental y la ciudad como fuente de emoción estética. Por momentos el film resultante produce imágenes de una pureza y elegancia equiparables a los experimentos visuales de compatriotas suyos como Walter Ruttman o Hans Richter.
La presente banda sonora fue compaginada desde Paris por su nieto, el músico Ary Carpman.
El film tuvo su estreno mundial en el 13º Bafici (Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Buenos Aires).
Martin Blaszko nació en Berlín, Alemania, en 1920. Estudió con Jankel Adler y Enrique Barczinski. En 1939, tras una estadía en París durante la cual conoció a Marc Chagall, emigró a la Argentina. Allí tomó contacto con Carmelo Arden Quin y en 1945 participó activamente en el movimiento de vanguardia MADÍ. Fue representante argentino en las Bienales de San Pablo (1953) Venecia (1956) y Bruselas (1958) y ha expuesto en el MoMA, el Centre Georges Pompidou, la Tate Gallery, el Museo Ludwig y el Museo Reina Sofía. Su obra forma parte de colecciones públicas y privadas en Argentina, Venezuela, EEUU, Italia, Francia, Alemania, España, Suiza y en la provincia de Utsugushi-Ga-Hara, Japón. El año pasado realizó una muestra individual en el MALBA. Actualmente vive y trabaja en Buenos Aires.

I had originally planned to film more shots of people and had a spoken word piece I was going to pair it with. By the time I got downtown it was pretty late and there weren't many people out so I decided to shoot this instead and found this great track by Quantum Jazz.
Wanted to test the new Magic Lantern firmware and see how it could help my shooting.
